Sisters “Better Half” Marathon

Registerarrow-right-1

The Sisters “Better Half” Marathon, Relay & 6.55 miler takes place Saturday, May 2, 2020 at 8 a.m. We hope to make this race as local as possible, highlighting some of the great businesses and services that Sisters has to offer! Proceeds from this event will benefit the Sisters High School Swim Team.

The event starts and finishes at Sisters Village Green right in the middle of town. The course is a 6.55 mile loop, repeated for those running the 1/2 marathon, taking advantage of a flat, fast, and scenic loop through Sisters. Spectators are welcome to bike or drive most of the course (except the eastern part where it goes through Sisters Campground), so bring your crew to come out and cheer (just please be aware of residents and other motorists, and, of course, runners)!

Parking: There is plenty of parking on city streets surround the Village Green. Please be aware to not park in front of private driveways. We encourage carpooling.

Aid Stations: There will be five aid stations at miles 2.7, 5, 6.5, 9.3, and 11.5. All aid stations will have water, Powerade, and a porta potty.

Time Limit: The course closes at 11:30 a.m., making for a 3hr 30min half marathon, or 16 min/mi.

Medical Assistance: Sisters Fire Department medical professionals will be available should you need aid.

Refunds: No refunds, transfers to other runners, or transfers to other years. If you cannot run for any reason, please know your entry is going to a good cause. It’s a donation to the Sisters High School Swim Team. They thank you for your support.

Weather: Spring in Central Oregon is typically pretty nice, but we could get a cold and/or rainy day, or a hot one. Expect to wear layers and be prepared for anything. You will be able to drop gear at aid stations.

Music / Strollers / Dogs: Music players are allowed, but please run with only one earbud in, be aware of other runners and traffic, and use general caution, as the course is open to traffic. Strollers are allowed. Dogs are not allowed (check out the Peterson Ridge Rumble in April for a dog-friendly trail race!).
