Power Dam Recreation Area, Perkinsville, VT

Triple Dam 10K

Join us on August 30 at 9 a.m. for the Triple Dam 10K. The event starts and finishes at the Old Power Dam in the Army Corps Power Dam Recreation Area off of Maple St. in Perkinsville, VT. This event is open to both runners and walkers.

This beautiful loop, on gently rolling terrain, starts at the old Perkinsville Power Dam (dam #1) on the Black River, runs downriver to North Springfield Reservoir on a mix of grassy trails and dirt roads, crosses over the river at the base of the North Springfield Dam (dam #2), runs back upstream on more dirt roads and grassy trails to just before Stoughton Pond Dam (dam #3), crosses through the Black River, which will feel great in late-August humidity, and finishes back at the Power Dam, adjacent to the best swimming hole in the area about 1/3 mile after the river crossing.

Note about the river crossing: the river will likely be low – about knee-deep – and slow, we will have a rope across the river, and there will be a lifeguard there to assist if wanted.
